NYTimes.com Pass: About

NYTimes.com Pass Instructions

We are excited to announce that online access to The New York Times is now available to the Austin College community. The Group Pass effectively provides AC students, faculty, and staff a free online subscription to the NYTimes.com site!

This service gives students, faculty, and staff full access to NYTimes.com and NYTimes mobile apps, as well as their international editions. Users will find a variety of topics covered with unsurpassed quality and depth through breaking news articles, blogs, videos and interactive features. Convenient section lists and search tools make navigation simple.

In addition, users can discover and share content on social networks, save articles, subscribe to email newsletters of areas of interest and receive news alerts, either on predefined topics or through a keyword search the user designates.

To activate your Group Pass to NYTimes.com, just follow the steps listed below:

  1. While physically on campus and connected to the AC network, go to the following URL https://myaccount.nytimes.com/grouppass/access and click 'Create Account.' (Note: pass activation cannot be completed if you are off-campus or using a proxy server.)
  2. Using your Austin College email address, follow the prompts to create a password and select your user type. (If you already have an account on NYTimes.com using your AC email address, you may log in with those credentials.)
  3. You have successfully claimed a Pass when you see the Start Your Access screen.
  4. Now you can enjoy seamless full access to NYTimes.com, INYT.com and NYT mobile apps just by logging into your NYTimes.com account from any location, on- or off-campus.
  5. Download NYTimes mobile apps here

For further assistance, please view the video tutorial below and reference the documents to the left. Your pass will be valid for one year. If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch. Happy reading!
