Search Process

  1. Choose and open a database.
  2. Find the main search bar (there may be multiple, in which case skip to step 4).
  3. Click advanced search.
  4. In each of the search bars, input a keyword (or two, if necessary). You can add as many or as few as you need.
  5. If you need more lines, click "Add Row."
  6. Click search.
  7. Review the number of results-- if you're getting too many, you will need to either apply limiters or adjust your keywords. If you're getting too few, you will need to broaden your search by using fewer or different keywords.
  8. Limiters you can use: publication year/date range, publication type/format, peer-reviewed, full text.
  9. Review titles and abstracts with the patron.
