Remote Access: Home

Connecting from Off-Campus

Abell Library provides off campus access to electronic resources (such as databases, e-books, and e-journals) to current students, faculty, and staff. To access these resources remotely, you will be prompted to sign in with your Austin College network ID and password. See below for more information.

NOTE: For questions regarding your AC network ID and/or password, please contact the IT Help Desk at 903-813-2063.

Access to Electronic Resources

On Campus Access

You can access any of our online electronic resources from anywhere on campus, regardless of whether you are on a campus-owned computer or a personal laptop or device connected to wi-fi. From the navigation bar above, click on Collections and select Databases from the dropdown menu to view a complete list of our databases.

Off Campus Access

Proceed as though you are on campus, and select the database you want to access.

  • You will be prompted for your AC email username and password the first time you access a restricted database from off campus. (The username is the portion of your email address before the "@" symbol; password is case-sensitive.)
  • Once you have entered these credentials, continue using all sites (including restricted databases) without having to log in.
  • If you close your browser, or your login session expires (typically after two hours), you will be prompted to log in again using the same credentials.

NOTE: Please disable any VPNs when trying to use library resources remotely, and simply follow the instructions included here for seamless access to the library's electronic resources.
