Connecting from Off-Campus

Abell Library provides off-campus access to electronic resources (such as databases and e-journals) to current students, faculty, and staff. To access these resources off-campus, you will be prompted to sign in with your Austin College network ID and password. See below for more information.

NOTE: For questions regarding your AC network ID, please contact the IT Help Desk at 903-813-2063.

Access to Electronic Resources

You can access any of our online electronic resources from anywhere on campus, regardless of whether you are on a campus-owned computer or a personal laptop or device connected to wi-fi. From the navigation bar above, click on Collections and select Databases from the dropdown menu to view a complete list of our databases.

Proceed as though you are on-campus, and select the database you want to access.

  • You will be prompted for your AC email username and password the first time you access a restricted database off-campus. (The username is the portion of your email address before the "@" symbol; password is case-sensitive.)
  • Once you have entered these credentials, continue using all sites (including restricted databases) without having to login.
  • If you close your browser, or time out of the database, you will be prompted to login using the same credentials again.
