Virtual Exhibit: If Walls Could Talk: Welcome

Lost Buildings of Austin College

Lost Buildings of Austin College

[[an interactive exhibit by the Austin College Archives]]

Surveying the Austin College campus in 1998, one can hardly envision the physical plant of 120 years ago when the first college building was constructed in Sherman. College Park, as it came to be known, was located a mile and a half from the square, with a dusty lane called E. College the only thoroughfare. Over the years the appearance of the campus and its surroundings have undergone many changes. Buildings that played crucial roles in the life of the college and the lives of generations of students, like that first college building have passed into memory, some into oblivion. But if those walls could talk, what stories they could tell!
