Unlike Kanopy, the content on Academic Video Online (AVON) is fully licensed for unlimited viewing and concurrent use, so no special requests need to be made to the library by faculty or any other Austin College user. This resource includes full-length domestic and international films, documentaries, news segments, ethnographies, performances, and more. Please contact Andrew Smith with any questions you may have.
Check out the Alexander Street Video Platform LibGuide for detailed steps on how to begin using Academic Video Online!
Academic Video Online is the most comprehensive video subscription available to libraries. It delivers video titles spanning the widest range of subject areas including anthropology, business, counseling, film, health, history, music, and more. Curated for the educational experience, the massive depth of content and breadth of content-types (such as documentaries, films, demonstrations, etc.) makes this database a useful resource for faculty and students alike.
All videos within AVON can be embedded into Moodle or other authenticated Austin College web pages using the Share feature on each title's page. Users can copy a direct link or embed code. Citation information is also available. Refer to ProQuest's How to use AVON LibGuide for more information.
Creating custom playlists and clips from the AVON collection is simple, but requires a user profile. Refer to ProQuest's How to Use AVON LibGuide to get started!
