To access SciFinder Scholar, you must create your own account at the following link: http://bit.ly/25KwzCZ (Note: you must be on campus to access this link.)
Returning user experiencing login issues?
Please refer to the two sets of steps below if you encounter problems accessing the SciFinder platform (https://scifinder-n.cas.org/) with an existing account.
To reset your password:
- Click on the ‘SciFinder Scholar’ link above as you normally would.
- Once you reach the SciFinder login screen, click the “Can’t Log In?” button.
- This will take you to the password screen located here: https://accounts.cas.org/password/. Input your username or email address and it will send a verification code to your email.
- Input that code and reset your password, and you should be all set!
If resetting your password does not work:
You may see a message such as “access is not authorized” or “unable to log in at this time” even after successfully resetting your password. If this happens, try a different browser first, and if that works, you may need to clear the cookies and/or cache in your primary browser to get your new login to work. If the problem persists, you will need to get in touch with CAS SciFinder support, as neither the Library nor IT manage this login. Your account may just need to be reactivated, which occurs on the CAS support side.
- Click ‘contact us’ button on the site, or do one of the following…
- Email help@cas.org describing the issue and that your account needs to be reactivated. Include your username and/or email address you used to register.
- Call 800.753.4227 and provide the above info and they’ll be able to retrieve your account and create a ticket for it to be reactivated.
- A phone call takes just a few minutes, and a support ticket with a case number will be emailed to you.
- Usually, their support is prompt to follow up, but please allow until next business day (up to 24 hours) for your account reactivation to be resolved. At that time, you should receive an email prompting you to set a new password and access your reactivated account.
