Communication, Media Studies and Theatre: Finding Books

You have a few options for how to locate books here at Abell Library. 

• Library Catalog -- search the library catalog by keyword
• Library Catalog: Advanced Search -- use this interface for many more options, including subject, author, or title

Circulating books are located on the 2nd floor of the library. Many books on anthropology topics can be found in the following sections:

Look for the first letter of the call number (for example, HQ1180 .M46) on the end of the shelves to find what you're looking for or to browse.

TIP: Once you have found a couple of books in the catalog and have located them on the shelves, browse in the same area to see if there are other titles of interest. This is a great way to locate a title that a catalog search may have missed!

By default, searching our catalog will only look for items here at AC. You may instead choose the search option "Libraries Worldwide" (see image below) if you are not finding what you need here.

You may request to borrow the item from another library via Interlibrary Loan (ILL). 

1. Click the "Request Book through Interlibrary Loan" button.
2. Complete and submit the Interlibrary Loan Form. 
3. Allow 1 to 2 weeks for the book to arrive and be available for pickup.
