If you are a student who has been nominated to complete an honor's thesis or project, you have access to certain special privileges through the library to assist you in your work. These privileges, along with some additional services of interest, are highlighted below.
Please contact the appropriate library personnel with questions regarding any of these services.
Your librarians are available to meet with you to discuss research techniques and possible resources to locate information for your specific thesis topic. Please schedule an appointment with any librarian to help you use research tools available at Abell Library and to obtain resources from other libraries.
As an honors student, you may check out print materials for 120 days (~4 months) instead of the standard 28-day checkout period for students. This change to your library account should be automatic, but please confirm your status with the Circulation Supervisor when checking out materials. Verify you have received the correct checkout duration with your due date receipts, and contact us with any discrepancies or questions you may have.
Abell Library is a participating member of the TexShare program through the Texas State Library and Archives Commission that extends free reciprocal borrowing privileges to each other's faculty, staff, and students. Each library has specific rules and regulations regarding access to their materials, so check the lending policy of a particular library for policies, hours, and phone numbers before making a trip to that library. More information on the card can be found here.
